The Roland-Garros eSeries by BNP Paribas has crowned its first champion.
Spain’s Carlos Che claimed victory in the first-ever Grand Slam e-tennis tournament after defeating Italy’s Lorenzo “Isniper” Cioffi by a scoreline of 6-1.
At the prize-giving ceremony, Che was handed his trophy by Bernard Giudicelli, FFT President, and Norman “Genius” Chatrier, professional eSport player and Roland-Garros eSport ambassador, and grandson of former FFT president Philippe Chatrier.
The eight winners of the qualifying phases, which were held from March to May in Belgium, Brazil, China, France, India, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, faced off in the final event.
Players battled it out on Tennis World Tour, a brand-new video game released by Bigben on 22 May.
